Technically I use both, but only because I put in the WiiKey when it first came out - Now I just use USB Loader GX

Softmod is something anybody can do plus no Wii opening and such stuff so I chose softmod
plus it's not pricy
In other hand chips are some time avaiable at put in without difficult methods but still money involved

As of now I'm using only Softmodding, but I'm increasingly thinking about getting a Modchip aswell. The curse of D3-2 equals no Gamecube games off the net, and that's not good since... the GC didn't really succeed in Poland and getting Gamecube discs that I don't already have is close to a mirracle, unless I do the puppy eye trick at my sister from Ireland. X3 So yeah, I voted "softmod" but it's probably better to have both nowadays... or have an old Wii.

WODE for me - combination of youngish son & discs is not a happy one (especially when the other half finds the discs left out...). Also no worries if an update from disc is done in error... Worst case I have a 10-15 min per game re-rip frenzy (although I keep a backup on second HD so it's just a copy job)

If you wasn't aware before hand, after seeing these results you can clearly see why the big N attacked the HBC
