Alot of people have been having problems with the homebrew channel unlimited finding roms for the snes emulators. I have figured it out and its very simple.

1st Step- make a folder named- snes9x

2nd Step- make a folder inside (snes9x) and name it- roms

3rd Step- inside (roms) folder place your snes roms

4th Step (VERY IMPORTANT)- place the (snes9x) folder with the (roms) folder inside in the root directory of your sd card. IT DOES NOT MATTER IF YOU ARE USING HOMEBREW CHANNEL UNLIMITED OR HOMEBREW LAUNCHER, STILL PLACE THAT FOLDER IN THE ROOT DIRECTORY OF YOUR SD CARD!!!

I had the this problem and I know alot of people who are having it too but I have figured it out and maybe I can help someone on this site.

If you have any questions email me: slingblade1170@yahoo.com

Actually the problem a lot of people are having is even when they have there directory's set up correctly, the emulator goes to a screen full of numbers, however when booting via the TP exploit, the emulator works perfectly, thus showing the problem is not on the user end but with the homebrew channel.

This problem happens with a range of other homebrew as well (They boot with the TP exploit but not the Homebrew channel).

slingblade1170> if you've got this to work then well done, but I believe that it's a fluke.

The basic problem appears to be that either the homebrew channel is not initializing or release the accelerometer in the Wii mote correctly.

There appears to be a problem in the current Wii libraries.  What I'm saying here is informed speculation though as I'm not a software person (hardware more is my game) and this is what I've picked up from the current scene.

Hell Hibou (author of Homebrew Launcher) has said as much and this is why his utility does not presently support Wii mote point and click, version 0.4 does support the d pad and buttons.

The only way I've managed to get Snes9x working from a SD is to install the homebrew channel but place Homebrew Launcher (this utility would appear to reset the wii mote and hence remove the problem)at the root of the SD card and then have the homebrew channel load this and then select the emulator I want to launch from there.  This is the only guaranteed way that I've been able to avoid the rom loading problem.

Cheers
Jinxter

jinxter: A lot of homebrew does not currently support the Homebrew Channel Unlimited, yet works perfectly fine from the TP Hack. This is caused by a bug in the Homebrew Channel Unlimited.  If you want me to post a picture of what emwearz is talking about ley me know, cause you guys are not talking about the same thing.

minoochmafia> Thank you I'm aware of the wii error message and my post lists a way to get around this.  I am aware of the problems with the homebrew channel and have tried to answer what these problems are.

Did reference my reply to emwearz when it should have been to slingblade1170.  Hope that clears it up?
