First off. Do you have TP to load homebrew? If you have that and an sd card, your ok. I will be making a step by step guide on how to install these VC games. But I will not give out any type of links for the VC release. Look out for my guide today or tommorow!! Im glad I can help. :)

The Twilight Princess Exploit
You need to own a copy of The Legend Of Zelda Twilight Princess for the Wii, and a SD card formated in FAT.

Step 1
Download the Twilight Princess Exploit, back up your TP save game if you want to use it later, place the exploit on your SD card and put it in your Wii.

Step 2
On your Wii, go to the Wii settings page, then your channels page, delete your current TP save game, download the save game off your SD card.

Step 3
Put the TP Disc into your Wii and boot the game up, you now want to have whatever .elf file you want booted named boot.elf on your SD card. Load the save game and walk backwards once ingame.

The .elf file will now be booted.

INSTALLING WADS

Step 1
Download the WAD Installer, extract it and rename wad-installer(.elf) to  boot(.elf), you don't actually have to add .elf on the end, thats why there in brackets. Place boot.elf on your SD card.

Step 2
Once you have a games WAD (I wont ask how or where you got it, I hope you wont either) ensure that it is named title(.wad), most of the ones you find are now all ready named this. Place title(.wad) on the SD card.

Your SD card should now look like this.

Step 3
Put the SD card in your Wii, Boot Zelda up with the Exploit save game all ready on it, load the save game, walk backwards, lets the code run and wait for the prompt to press reset to install wad, press your Wii's reset button, let it install, it will reboot itself.

When you Wii reboots the VC game will now be a channel.

NOTE: This doesn't work via the Homebrew Channel at the moment, and has to be launched via the TP Exploit.

Hi there,

there are 4 files in the exploit, what is the path where they go on the SD card, should they be in the root of the card or in a specific path.  Also i notice that the path of the game save for zelda is in the private\Rspe and private\Rzde. do those files get deleted to use the exploit. the instructions in the tuturial seem a little too general for me, can you please expand.

thanks

Kipper

You need to use the WAD Uninstaller to remove all traces of the VC games from your console. If you delete them in them normal way, the ticket is left on the NAND and when you visit the Wii Shop it shows that you can download the game for free. Best to remove them once you are done ;)

Thanx for the reply retrohead. I am planning to try out pilotwings before purchaseing it and due to the reports of ticket errors in some wads I was concirned about what may be left behind from this type of evaluation. I'll use the WAD Uninstaller then thank you..  Doc

emwearz:  Great Tut but here are my small notes just to make thing easier.

TP exploit: There are 4 files in ther TP exploit (0.3 Alpha)
Europe/Australia RVL-RZDP-0A-0 JPN rzdp0.bin
Asia RVL-RZDJ-0A-0 JPN rzdj0.bin
America RVL-RZDE-0A-0 JPN rzde0.bin
America RVL-RZDE-0A-0 USA rzde0.bin
America RVL-RZDE-0A-2 USA rzde2.bin

Rename the correct file to data.bin and overwrite the save game you allready have in there

The new Wad Installer (2.0) now has a wad directory where you can copy all the wad files you want and don´t have to rename them (they have to have the extention .wad
