I have a Wii with a Wiikey V1, latest non-beta update. I've had to use Neogamma to load some newer games as loading them from the Wii Menu ends up in a black screen and my Wiimote turning off.
Is there anyway to make newer games load from the Wiimenu?

Do you have pre/priiloader installed with the correct region hacks? Also, if you are trying to play a NTSC game on a PAL wii, make sure your system menu language is set to English. You may also need video mode patches if you are launching an out of region game.
Priiloader doesn't ring a bell, is that what's missing? Is it easy to install?
My system is set to English, however I don't think I have an IOS anymore, I used something called.. Starloader I think when I initially installed NeoGamma, also my system doesn't default to NeoGamma, I load it through the Homebrew channel.

This does not yet work with the latest HBC (There was apparently a beta update available from within the app which works). You can alternatively use a hex edited preloader which I made to load the latest version of the HBC (You should update that aswell really while you are in the mood).
Im interested in getting this sorted too, as my nephew has a wii and still runs games from DVD, however it says in the priiloader info "IT IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED TO INSTALL PRIILOADER ONLY ON A WII WITH UNMODIFIED IOSs!!", I have no idea on the condition of his IOS files, but i know ive jiggered about with em in the past to get SMB working etc, so what are the options from here?

You're not going to brick your wii installing priiloader..
