Hi,

I had my wii when it was first released and i had a wiifree put into it. I was wondering what is the best softmod chip i could use and what is compatibility like with some off the latest releases?

Any help will be greatly appreciated

Cheers

If your Wii system menu is less than 4.3, you would be best to install a couple of cios (r14 and hermes 222/223 [comes with uloader]). Then restore the trucha bug on your system menu and use a loader like neogamma or uloader to play your backups.

Unsure on how your wii is setup so can't really give complete instructions.

Do you have the HBC? If so then you can put the cios r14 dol into your apps folder and run that from the HBC. If you don't have the HBC then you need to install that first really. Check out bannerbomb if that is the case:

hackmiii installer

Get back to me and we can go from there.

thanks for the swift reply, the thing I wanted to know more is, is it best to have a external hard drive for all this software and game? if so what specifications does the external hard drive need to have?

Cheers

Yes it is normally better to have a USB device. Games load faster and there are normally fastser fixes for games.

The HDD needs to not spin down too fast, that is the only requirement really. WD Passports are quite nice to use as they do not need an external power source and they are proven to work nicely for this purpose.
